About Us
What is The Sales Group?
The Sales Group, LLC was founded in 2001 by highly successful sales professionals from the technology industry.
Our goal was to develop a practical, real-world training & development methodology that would yield a consistent and measurable impact on business results across an entire sales team. As sales managers with top technology companies, we were frustrated with traditional training & development tools. Having been involved in many sales organizations from startups through to Fortune 500 companies, we wanted to bring a level of experience, expertise and sales effectiveness found in the largest, most successful companies, down to the broader market. Our vision is to empower smaller, growing companies to compete more effectively in the marketplace.
Our programs and methodologies are unique. They are highly focused on specific markets and explain how to apply concepts to the day-to-day world of the sales professional. We don’t try to fit a generic curriculum across multiple industries.
We also incorporate change management principles into our methodologies to influence real change in the sales force, resulting in real impact on the bottom line.

Our STEP® curriculum was designed by Warren Belkin, formerly a sales manager with Cisco Systems. Mr. Belkin was able to produce over $82M in sales from a team of 7 people, and had also personally generated over $31M in annual revenue as a Global Account Manager, delivering 281% of goal to become the top performing Global Account Manager in 1998 . Cisco is widely recognized as having one of the top sales organizations in the world, ranked best sales force in 2000 by Sales and Marketing Management Magazine.

What should you look for when choosing a training & development partner?
While some people initially look towards the largest training organizations with numerous facilitators, we don't believe that quantity is the answer. It's really about quality.
In fact, that's the main reason we've purposely not scaled our instructor-led team. When you add facilitators, the quality of delivery is diminished and the overall experience suffers.
If you look at our instructor-led evaluations, we've consistently scored between 4.75 and 4.95 out of 5.00 in term of overall satisfaction with our classes. These high scores are a result of our content being highly focused on our client's industry, but also because our facilitators come from a sales background in the same markets, and are able to add a great deal from personal experiences.
